Well the WDSCC Super Sprint Series is now well under way with last weekend seeing the first round of the B series. There was a large number of competitors competing in the B series, with a variety of cars. The Lotus club showed a strong force with 17 competitors competing over the weekend one of which was Geoff Noble who finished in second outright. Bruce McKenzie was the outright fastest in his formula three and Stephen Faulks placing third in his mighty Time attack STI.
There were a few patches of rain throughout the weekend, which slowed a few clubman drivers down and kept a few others on their toes but overall the weather was mostly fine. Seven runs were completed with each run consisting of 3 laps on the large 3 km Circuit K.
It was great to see the juniors back at it again with Kyle Evans taking out first place and the ever-improving Alyssa Lepp in second place. The WDSCC encourage the juniors and help them develop their skills.
There only a few Minor incidents throughout the weekend with some resulting in an early retirement including Paul Buccini who blew a turbo in his BMW. Paul then shared the drive in his Daughter Karlie’s BMW , creating some good ole family competition.
The C series is next for their first round for 2019 and will be held on the 23rd and 24th of March. Once again there will be a large variety of cars including a Vintage V8 Ford Special, Rotary powered sedans and more modern competition cars. There will be a bit of something to suit everyone’s fancy.
